Perfume | Study
The influence of celebrities on perfume sales is getting smaller and smaller, because consumers are getting more motivated by sampling and in-store trials. That is the conclusion of a study, performed by Total Beauty.
As it turns out, consumers love free samples to try a fragrance for a few times. And which celebrity has his or hers name attached to it, doesn't seem to influence the consumers buying process.
The study also revealed that despite the fact that perfume is a luxury product, women keep spending money on it. Even now, when the economy isn't what it's supposed to be, we don't cut down on our fragrances. 40 % of the women with the lowest incomes (below 25.000 dollars per year), has spent an average of 150 dollars on perfume in the last twelve months.
